The first(of hopefully many) art show of the year for Bellvue Group at the historic Farmer House in Bloomington, IN tonight. All together we had three artists displaying their works in the galleria: Karen Holtsclaw, Lan and myself. I was impressed with the turnout tonight--we had at least 15 visitors from 5 to 9pm. This was amazing considering we didn't only promoted it on Facebook and in the Events calendar through the Herald-Times Newspaper. The artworks will remain here for two months, so there are so many opportunities to visit Farmer House and take part in these inspirational creations. Another thing that I truly enjoyed at this casual event was artists talking art. Since I started my painted path, I have longed for honest conversation about ours art and how others view it. When I've shown my works at other galleries, I usually get a non-comment(where they look at it for three seconds and silently move along) or a few words of praise. But I really need more than that. I need to know WHY you like it or WHAT does it make you think of. Tonight we delved deeper into our works and discovered the stories behind their titles. It was invigorating and I hope to have more in the near future
